NASA selects 9 US companies to make lunar robotic payloads

Nasa along with Musk's SpaceX and Boeing is developing transportation systems that would allow the U.S. to fly astronauts from American soil for the first time since the space shuttle was retired in 2011.
"Nasa will be conducting a cultural assessment study in coordination with our commercial partners to ensure the companies are meeting Nasa's requirements for workplace safety, including the adherence to a drug-free environment", the agency had noted in a statement.
On Thursday, NASA named nine United States companies that will bid to deliver science and technology payloads for the space agency as a one of the first steps towards long-term scientific study and human exploration of the Moon and eventually Mars.
