The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly stripped the hosting rights of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) from Cameroon because it was struggling to finish building the football venues.
CAF officials made the ruling on Friday in Accra, Ghana, that lasted more than 10 hours.
"CAF will ensure that a new host is in place by 31st December, 2018, and it will communicate openly and transparently on the process and subsequent decision".
The 2019 event is scheduled for June 15-July 13, a change from its traditional January-February slot.
This will be the second time in recent memory that CAF has stripped a country of hosting rights of a continental tournament.
