How Trump Has Made Theresa May’s Brexit Deal an Even Tougher Sell

  • Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May leaves her 10 Downing Street office in London

In a separate interview with the BBC, Lidington, the cabinet office minister, said it was "wishful thinking" on the part of some lawmakers that the European Union would offer an alternative plan.

May has warned skeptical lawmakers that if they reject the deal the world's fifth largest economy will either leave without an agreement or Brexit could be delayed or even reversed.

The government could try to renegotiate the terms of the deal, seeking extra concessions from the European Union, and then call a second vote asking lawmakers for their approval on amended terms.

Opponents of the deal on either side of the argument say it fails to deliver on what people voted for in the 2016 referendum or what the public were promised during the campaign and afterwards.

Forged during 17 months of tough negotiations, the withdrawal agreement covers financial matters, citizens' rights, Northern Ireland and arrangements for a 21-month post-Brexit transition phase.

"To do that we need to get on with Brexit now by getting behind this deal", she wrote.

"As the deal stands, they may not be able to trade with the United States and I don't think they want that at all".

Article 50 of the European Union treaty, which sets the rules for leaving the bloc, states that if a country decides to withdraw, it has two years to agree an exit deal, a deadline which can be extended only if the remaining European Union states unanimously agree.

Labour Brexiteer Gisela Stuart also attacked the proposed line-up, saying it was limited to "two politicians who voted and campaigned for Remain".

Downing Street believes a direct appeal to voters will help get her controversial deal through the parliament, where 90 Tory members publicly stated that they will vote against the EU-UK agreement on how Britain will leave the regional bloc on March 29 next year.

It's not a direct discount like Target's deal, but if you shop at Kohl's frequently, it can really pay off. Walmart says it will have "thousands more deals" this year than it's had on Cyber Mondays in the past.

GDP per head would fall by 3 percent a year, amounting to an average cost per person a year of 1,090 pounds at today's prices, NIESR added. "No", the prime minister replied.

"I am ready to debate it with Jeremy Corbyn because I have got a plan".

It has been reported a debate could clash with the finale of the jungle-based reality television programme, now starring Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp.

"Because, you know, right now, if you look at the deal, they may not be able to trade with us". It is a big decision MPs will be taking. "We can back this deal, deliver on the vote of the referendum and move on to building a brighter future of opportunity and prosperity for all our people. I don't think they meant that".

"Euroskeptics in May's Conservative Party hate the withdrawal agreement and are vowing to oppose it because it forces the United Kingdom to keep close to the EU's trade rules".

Mickelson walked up the fairway knowing that if he made birdie and Woods made par the cash grab would be his. Woods humbly sat by, taking the good-natured trash talk he knew would be coming if he did not prevail.

She said: "The danger is a debate between Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn is simply a debate between two versions of Brexit which are only really different around the margins".

"The EU have maintained throughout this process that they wanted to link overall access to markets to access to fisheries". I think all voices and all options should be heard.

Former May loyalist Michael Fallon said the government was asking parliament to "take a huge gamble" and "surrendering our (EU) vote and our veto without any firm commitment to frictionless trade".
