  • A crane salvages the wreckage of a bus after it plunged off a bridge into the Yangtze River in China's southwestern Chongqing early

The bus was pulled out of the river on Wednesday, and divers have so far recovered 13 bodies with two still missing.

Security footage from a bus which crashed into a river in China has revealed that the driver was fighting with a passenger moments earlier. However, Liu did not get off and later asked the driver to stop the bus when she realised she missed her destination. After the driver, surnamed Ran, refused to halt the bus, Liu then became enraged and struck Ran with her cell phone before the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Dashcam footage from an oncoming vehicle then shows the bus veering off its lane, colliding with a auto and smashing through a bridge guardrail before plunging into the river.

Police said on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, a brawl between a passenger and a bus driver was the cause of the bus plunging off a bridge and killing more than a dozen people in southwestern China on Sunday.

A Wanzhou police statement said the driver and the passenger broke the law with their actions because they seriously endangered public safety.
