Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) doubled down on his condemnation of Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman Sunday, recalling his past admiration for the leader by whom he now feels played in light of the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.

Once Khashoggi was reported missing, the Saudi government initially said Khashoggi had come out of the consulate the same day, and denied any involvement in his disappearance.

The human rights group Amnesty International said Saudi Arabia should "immediately produce" Khashoggi's body so that independent forensic experts can conduct an autopsy in line with international standards.

Turkish investigators are likely to find out what happened to the body "before long", a senior official said.

But he told Tim Dower it could relate to the temperament and character of the Crown Prince.

"The Turks have been talking more to the media than they have us", Corker said of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally.

Saudi officials say Jamal Khashoggi died in a "fist fight"
The official said Saudi statements had changed because of "false information reported internally at the time". Canada's foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, said the Saudi version lacked "consistency and credibility".

A bipartisan group of United States politicians has accused the Crown Prince of directing the operation, with Republican Senator Rand Paul telling Fox News that the USA "cannot continue to have relations with him and so I think he's going to have to be replaced".

He said King Salman "is not particularly coherent" and that bin Salman was likely to rule the country for decades.

While he said an investigation still has to be done, Corker added he believes the crown prince was behind the killing.

"It would be premature to comment on sanctions and premature to comment on really any issues until we get further down the investigation and get to the bottom of what occurred".

"We need them as a counterbalance to Iran", he said.

Mr Trump has repeatedly said over the last week that he opposes any effort to impede more than $100 billion in USA arms sales to Saudi Arabia, but that he would consider sanctions on the kingdom. Yes, I think he did it.

In the Fox News interview, Jubeir called the killing "a huge and grave mistake" and offered condolences to Khashoggi's family.

Things went wrong from the start as the team overstepped their orders and quickly employed violence, the official said.

Turkish sources say the authorities have an audio recording purportedly documenting Khashoggi's murder inside the consulate but have not released it.

He said it was premature to discuss sanctions, in line with Trump administration efforts to censure a killing that has drawn worldwide outrage while also protecting relations with the Saudis.

"I would respectfully urge members of Congress to wait until they have the facts and then judge the results of the facts and take positions then", he said.

He added: "On the one hand, ministers defend weapons sales to the Saudi coalition with claims that the coalition properly investigates when airstrikes kill Yemeni civilians".
