Ford testified under oath that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when she was 15 years old.

The book is closed on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Kavanaugh replaces retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, a conservative jurist who often cast the deciding swing vote on ideologically divisive issues, upholding abortion and gay rights and the use of affirmative action aiding racial minorities in college admissions. Her parents and grandparents on her father's side lived in the state.

Robertson: Title race not just between Liverpool and City
The result means City go top, ahead of both Chelsea and Liverpool on goal difference, with all three teams tied on 20 points. Liverpool are outstanding at what they do but they can not rely on their high-tempo approach every single time.

The reaction began after Senator Collins announced on Friday ahead of the Senate vote Saturday that she would indeed vote "yes" on Kavanaugh's confirmation. She said that she and her family had been subject to harassment and death threats, and that she had been "called the most vile and hateful names imaginable".

"I've had, obviously, protesters again at my house this morning before coming here, but it has been overwhelmingly positive - as I think you could tell by the reaction of the people who are here for this important ceremony today", Collins told the crowd.

"Something happened to Dr. Ford. Therefore I do not believe that these charges can fairly prevent Judge Kavanaugh from serving on the court", Sen.

Both Collins and Flake voted with their party to cut off debate Friday and move ahead with a vote on Kavanaugh's nomination. The many indignities that women experience in their day-to-day lives is proof of this, as is the continued attacks on Dr. Blasey Ford after her testimony.

But the United States continues to insist that it expects Iranian oil buyers to bring their purchases down to zero. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 57 cents, or 0.8 percent, at $73.77 a barrel.

"It's certainly been a hard situation - the most hard in the 22 years I've been honored to represent the state of Maine in the United States Senate", Collins said shortly after the vote on the Senate floor. Her testimony prompted countless women to share their own stories of sexual harassment and assault. She answered questions directly and forthrightly; she showed no evidence of avoidance or defensiveness.

Rice, who also served as the US ambassador to the United Nations under Obama, said she appreciated the enthusiasm about her potential run, but said people who are angry about Kavanaugh should focus on the midterm elections. As she told the committee, she is no one's pawn.

According to lawyer Sandra Lundy, who lives in neighboring MA, she is not only boycotting the state - she is actively campaigning for others to join her.

Addressing Kavanaugh's demeanor during the hearing, Collins said she believed Kavanaugh "stepped over the line" by referring to revenge for an orchestrated plot by the Clintons in his opening statement and his responses to certain senators, including Amy Klobuchar.
