  • Fabrizio Stabile 29 fell ill after visiting the pool at BSR Cable Park in Waco in September

A New Jersey surfer is dead after contracting a rare and deadly "brain-eating amoeba" weeks after he swam at a water resort in Texas.

The 29-year-old apparently contracted a rare but highly deadly amoeba, Naegleria fowleri, or most commonly known as a "brain-eating amoeba", after spending time in the park's wave pool, according to Waco Tribune-Herald.

Stabile, an avid outdoorsman with a passion for surfing, snowboarding and fishing, had returned home when he began suffering a severe headache while mowing his lawn on September 16, loved ones said.

Cristiano Ronaldo sued by Nevada woman over alleged sexual assault
She was invited to join guests in a hot tub but she declined because she did not have a bathing suit, the complaint said. On Instagram Live on Friday, Ronaldo appeared to respond to the accusations: "What they said today, fake - fake news".

An obituary for Stabile in the Press of Atlantic City newspaper said he was an "avid outdoorsman", who had worked for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Bass Pro Shops.

CDC spokesman Kelly Craine told KBTX that her organization was 'currently investigating to find the source'. Normally, people are infected when contaminated water enters through their nose, according to the agency.

Park owner Stuart E. Parsons Jr. offered his honest condolences to Stabile's family and says the park will continue to comply with the ongoing investigation. According to the CDC's website, symptoms usually start one to nine days after swimming, and those infected typically die one to 18 days after the symptoms begin to show. The infection is also extremely deadly, with a fatality rate exceeding 97 percent, the CDC says.

But he did insist that the Foden is very much in his thoughts. "I believe too much in that team, in those guys", he said. I expect him back when he's fit , which should be quite soon". "AGUERO is struggling with some problems in his feet.

The wave generating pool is now shut while the United States authorities carry out tests. Once it reaches the brain it causes primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), which is often fatal.

The "heat-loving" amoeba causes PAM, or primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), a rare and almost always fatal disease of the central nervous system, according to the CDC.

The park voluntarily closed on Friday and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was testing the attraction's pool water for Naegleria fowleri, the newspaper reported. Swallowing water contaminated by the amoeba can not cause the infection. On their site, the people from the CDC say that "four people in the US out of 143 have survived infection from 1962 to 2017".

The park remains closed pending the findings of the CDC.
