For smart fraudsters, they may not need to purchase every bit of information because they can simply figure out the access to the multiple accounts a person has based on the login of one or two accounts.
In a statement to CNN on Monday, Tindersaid it has done "a full forensic investigation" since Facebook's "limited" disclosure and has found "no evidence to suggest accounts have been accessed".
"Don't use the same password on all your online accounts", Colburn said.
In light of the incident, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has made a post on its official Facebook page, urging local users to change their passwords.
It's also not yet clear who is behind the attack on Facebook, or whether the attacks were targeted, and the reason behind it. Facebook has now patched the vulnerabilities and revoked the compromised access tokens, forcing affected users to log back in (though their passwords haven't been compromised, the company says) and notifying them about the issue.
"Since we've only just started our investigation, we have yet to determine whether these accounts were misused or any information accessed". So far, though, none of these issues have significantly shaken the confidence of the company's 2 billion global users.
Facebook has not revealed whether the attackers attempted to extract private data from users' profiles. Possession of those tokens would allow attackers to control those accounts.
The company then stated that the source of the vulnerability, the "View As" feature, has been disabled for the time being, adding that the feature became open to attack in July 2017 when Facebook edited its video uploading. "It does seem broad".
We may not know the true impact of the recent Facebook hack until months later.

Peter Navarro, an adviser to Trump on trade, told Fox News: "Everybody is negotiating in good faith right now as we speak". Most of the "substantive work" has been completed, with a "handful" of details remaining, the newspaper reported .
While Facebook has reset its access tokens, the social networking company doesn't actually have any evidence that it has publicly presented that other third-party sites that use Facebook access credentials were in fact breached as well.
Attackers could then access personal information stored in users' Facebook accounts, and use such information in scams and phishing attempts. If you found yourself logged out of your Facebook account last week, it's likely you were affected.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, may also have been affected.
