Ford, Kavanaugh and a Senate hearing

The governors don't have an official role in the nomination process, but their voices could add pressure to the Senate's consideration and help distance the governors from President Donald Trump.

"It's possible that I'll hear that and I'll say I'm changing my mind", Trump said.

On Wednesday a third woman came forward with explosive allegations, saying she witnessed sexually abusive behavior by Kavanaugh when he was a teenager. She recalled that after she said hello, "his face was white".

"It is not my responsibility to determine whether Mr. Kavanaugh deserves to sit on the Supreme Court", she was to tell the senators.

The stakes for both political parties - and the country - are high.

But they say Trump was encouraged by Kavanaugh's performance.

The outcome of this hearing is likely to determine whether Kavanaugh's promotion to the highest court in America is successful.

But Republicans also risk rejection by female voters in November if they are seen as not fully respecting women and their allegations.

Republicans, under pressure from conservatives to confirm Kavanaugh, are forging ahead with plans for a full Senate vote as early as Tuesday.

Justice Kavanaugh, who will testify after Prof. Ford said she felt Kavanaugh might accidentally kill her.

Chuck Grassley, the top Republican on the committee.

Kavanaugh called certain allegations against him a "joke" and a "farce".

But at least a hint of doubt has crept in.

Democratic senators asked Prof. She will testify first, giving an opening statement before questioning by senators and by an outside lawyer, Rachel Mitchell, hired by the panel's 11 all-male Republicans to handle much of their questioning.

And while she admitted she didn't' remember every detail, the alleged assault was "seared into my memory and have haunted me episodically as an adult".

All 10 Democrats on the Judiciary panel called on Trump to withdraw Kavanaugh's nomination or order an FBI investigation into all allegations against him.

Trump Promises Second Summit with Kim Soon
Moon met with Kim for a third time last week. "Today we commit to fighting the drug epidemic together", he added. He says US automobiles, pharmaceuticals and agricultural products will gain better access to Korean markets.

Kavanaugh will seek to rebut accusations from Dr. Christine Blasely Ford, who claims Kavanaugh attempted to sexually assault her at a high school party.

"Take it from the commander in chief himself, who said of a day steeped in political, legal and judicial consequences: 'I think it's going to be a very, very, important day in the history of our country, ' President Donald Trump said in NY on Wednesday evening". That was an apparent reference to Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge.

But the laughter, and the identity of her attacker, Ford said, remained crystal clear.

His Fox colleague Brit Hume said of Ford: "The more hesitant, the more fragile she has seemed, the more credible and powerful she seems to the audience". She continued to tell the committee what allegedly happened during a high school party during the summer of 1982, which she has described several times before this hearing.

Nothing on the calendar appears to refer to her.

The day opened with Ford, now a 51-year-old college professor in California, raising her right hand to swear under oath about the allegations she said she never expected to share publicly until they leaked in the media two weeks ago and reporters started staking out her home and work.

Late Wednesday, the committee released a flurry of other documents of unclear significance.
