On Saturday, Russian officials tapped him for another role: special representative to improve relations between the United States and Russia.

He has previously hung out with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a fellow martial arts fan.

Mr. Seagal, 66, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

It is the latest honour Russian Federation has bestowed upon Seagal. Back in 2013, Seagal was Putin's choice to lead a special diplomatic envoy.
