FBI agent defiantly rejects bias charges at chaotic hearing

Anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok lashed-out at GOP lawmakers during his fiery testimony Thursday, claiming his politically charged text messages were based in his "deep patriotism". Guiliani saying that "all the results of the investigation" should "be dismissed" seems to imply that he believes that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's charges against the 13 Russian nationals who are accused of interfering in the 2016 election, should also be dismissed.
Strzok worked on FBI investigations into both Clinton's use of an email server and potential co-ordination between Russian Federation and Trump's campaign. Strzok defended himself as an unbiased agent in the conduct of his official duties, even if his texts - including one note in which he told Page that "we'll stop" Trump from becoming president - revealed he had a low opinion of Trump as candidate and president.
When Strzok declined to answer some questions on the Russian Federation probe, Goodlatte suggested Republicans might recess the hearing and hold him in contempt. Democrats objected and Goodlatte eventually let the hearing proceed.
For his part, Strzok could not argue his way out of responsibility for his now-famous 2015 and 2016 text messages expressing strong anti-Trump views, as well as criticisms of other 2016 presidential candidates.
Strzok's first open hearing descended into shouting matches during the 10-hour session on Thursday, with Republicans struggling to hide their emotions and Democrats jumping to the agent's defense. "No he won't. We'll stop it". Both Strzok and Page were booted from Mueller's investigation a year ago after he discovered their texts. "It simply couldn't happen".

Page's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
He said he was one of the few people during the 2016 election who knew the details of Russian election interference and its possible connections with people in the Trump orbit, and that that information could have derailed Trump's election chances.
"[Strzok] was not a credible witness, and I think his explanations didn't hold water", DeSantis, a member of both the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said Thursday on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle".
"But the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind".
