Musa marks return with winning double as Nigeria beat Iceland

  • Iceland forward Alfred Finnbogason

The Spanish La Liga and Premier League outfit Leicester City have offered their support to the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup group D fixture against Iceland.

Gerhot Rohr brought on wing back Tyronne Ebuehi for Bryan Idowu at the start of the second half and Nigeria came out full of running. "It will not change the plans that we have decided before this game", he said. We want to improve, we want to learn.

The Chelsea star showed his true qualities against Iceland.

Nigeria struggled in their opening game. Headed out by Iceland defender without much trouble.

He also made a host of crosses, most of which proved to be quite a handful for Iceland's defence.

Attorneys General Demand An End To Separation Of Immigrant Families
The attorneys' statement joins calls from celebrities , first ladies , and Republican officials to end the policy. Faith leaders of all persuasions, including the leader of Sessions' own church , have denounced the policy.

Nigeria are at their best in open space, and they will likely try to play for those openings, employing a lower defensive line. A draw would be enough to eliminate the Argentines but would leave Nigeria's fate resting on the outcome of Iceland's game against Croatia, which kicks off at the same time.

And on the stroke of half-time Finnbogason came within a whisker of doubling his World Cup tally when he flashed wide Gylfi Sigurdsson's whipped in free-kick.

"Nigeria must work more on deadball situation, set pieces". An ever-present figure in the Nigerian midfield, Wilfred Ndidi was involved in basically everything which revolved in the middle third of the pitch.

Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi dropped to the bench for the Group D clash, as the Super Eagles looked to get their first points on the board.

Russian Federation certainly seems to bring the best out of Musa, who has played much of his club football for CSKA Moscow. Rohr also played midfielder Victor Moses more defensively, too. The Eagles upped the ante in the second half and put Iceland on the backfoot.

Meghan Markle Goes to the Races
For the first day of the Royal Ascot horse races, Meghan Markle wore a belted white shirt dress with lace detailing at the waist. Initial reports claimed that Prince Harry didn't ask for Thomas' approval because they've not met each other in person.

But then Iceland met Ahmed Musa.

With his double, Musa is now the highest-scoring Nigerian at the World Cup finals with four goals.

Fast forward four years, and Nigeria have again triumphed over a European team.

The Super Eagles were short of ideas in attack and looked vulnerable to set-pieces and crosses into the box at the other end, and many expected Iceland to emerge victorious in both teams' second games in Russian Federation.

The Croatians, who top the group on six points with Nigeria second on three and Iceland and Argentina on one apiece, may take the opportunity to rest players on Tuesday, but Hallgrimsson is taking nothing for granted.

Japanese World Cup Fans Clean Up The Stadium After Winning Against Colombia
It's also noted Japan supporters carried out a similar job following their participation in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Both Colombia and Japan fans cleaned up after themselves after their Group H clash.
