The New York Times proposes that the Star Wars movies are coming out too frequently which is why Solo a Star Wars story had relatively poor box office. In fact, "Solo" is now forecast for a four day holiday weekend of $105 million to $115 million domestically.

As most of you know, Solo takes place before the first Star Wars movie and follows a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) as he befriends his future copilot Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). "Solo" is another attempt at that, but it made $35.6 million on Friday, about half of what "Rogue One" brought in on its opening day. Aside from fans reeling at the idea of watching anyone other than Harrison Ford play Han Solo, there was also turmoil behind the scenes, with original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller being replaced with Ron Howard months into shooting. With the rejiggered production, the budget soared well past $250 million.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was certain to contain throwbacks to the old Star Wars movies, with the prequel focusing on the adventures of Han Solo before he met up with Luke and Leia.

Iguodala Day-to-Day, Paul Game-Time Decision for Game 7
Despite Saturday's blowout, Houston still has what it wants: One game at home for a chance at the NBA Finals. Paul will likely meet with doctors sometime on Monday afternoon to get another update on his status.

"There's a ton of momentum in the box office", Dave Hollis, president of domestic distribution at Disney, said of the trio of recent openings - "Solo", "Avengers: Infinity War", and "Deadpool 2". Down 44%, Infinity War has brought in $621.6 million domestically.

"Deadpool 2" should easily score the second slot, heading for a $42 million three-day sophomore frame and a four-day total of around $54 million.

Star Wars was released in 1977 and has become one of the biggest film franchises in the history of cinema.

PayPal in talks to buy Sweden's iZettle in $2.2 billion deal
PayPal announced that it is buying European Square competitor iZettle last night, in a deal worth $2.2 billion. The announcement came after Sky News revealed that the two companies were in advanced talks.

"Anytime the numbers come in lower than projections, there is a feeling of disappointment and the 'Star Wars" brand for better or worse is always subject to lofty box office expectations", Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at comScore, told CNN. It's amusing how the dialogue in the Star Wars movies can still sometimes surprise you.
