As Deadspin's video of anchors reading Sinclair's script went viral, some local anchors began anonymously and openly criticizing the company's attempts to exert ideological control over smaller stations that many American households rely on for daily news.

And in Cincinnati, City Councilman P.G.

Sinclair's presence in local news is of interest especially because more people still get their news from local television stations than from any other source. The company is awaiting approval for a proposed $3.9-billion merger with Tribune Media, which would expand its reach even further.

He will be joined by our royal photographer Arthur Edwards MBE and royal correspondent Emily Andrews for a discussion panel. It's not known whether the actress, who recently completed her role on legal drama Suits , has already returned to the UK.

Sinclair owns or operates dozens of CBS and ABC stations, as well as Fox-affiliated stations. The host of HBO's "Last Week Tonight" previously took on Sinclair last summer. Slightly more from these groups rely on cable news.

Critics have said that the message echoes sentiments from President Donald Trump, who has often bashed the news media.

KVAL morning news co-anchors Lauren Lapka and Cameron Walker in Eugene chose not to read the promotional statements decrying "fake news" and "media bias" that Sinclair told its employees to record, The Register-Guard reported. And Trump's tweet just yesterday essentially praising them over CNN and NBC as much fairer and much better, you know, has cast a certain light on the decision that his lawyers at the Justice Department are now poised to make. They say, among other things, "The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media".

"We are focused on fact-based reporting", Livingston told the Sun. That's the goal of these announcements: "to reiterate our commitment to reporting facts in a pursuit of truth", he said. One user said they were, "glad to see KBOI acknowledging that there may be 2 sides to every story. only getting the liberal side from other local stations. This is extremely risky to a democracy". Epsheteyn commentaries are generally favorable to Trump and his policies, as with his commentary - which aired Sunday during the KATU morning news - about the trade deal between the USA and South Korea "is a win" for American businesses and "our economy", not the start of a trade war. They hired Trump aide Boris Epshteyn as their chief political analyst. But over the past few years, Sinclair has accumulated almost 200 local stations in nearly 100 markets, with a not-so-secret mission to push conservative, pro-Trump messages.

Trump defended Sinclair via tweet Monday. FCC Inspector General (IG) David Hunt recently agreed to investigate whether Pai has improperly favored Sinclair and coordinated with the company on FCC rule changes.
