  • Trump says DOJ will ban bump stocks blames Obama for legalizing them

Bump stocks, which use the recoil of a semi-automatic firearm to simulate automatic fire, came into the national spotlight after a gunman in Las Vegas used the devices in a massacre that killed 58 people and injured more than 500.

Bump stocks were not used during that incident, but calls, led by students, for stricter gun control have been heard nationwide.

"Obama Administration legalized bump stocks".

Formula One: Daniel Ricciardo handed three-place penalty for Australian Grand Prix
Verstappen, eight years younger than Ricciardo, last year, re-signed with Red Bull until the end of the 2020 season, putting pressure on Ricciardo, out of contract at season's end, to lift his game.

Under the proposal, current owners of bump stocks "would be required to surrender them, destroy them, or otherwise render them permanently inoperable".

Officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - a division of the Justice Department known as ATF - previously found that, since pressure must be applied to the gun from behind in addition to pulling the trigger, the devices evade a ban on machine guns under the National Firearms Act and Gun Control Act. The rules would be amended so that bump stock-type devices would be defined as a "machine gun" under federal law.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced on Friday that he is proposing rule changes that will ban bump stock-type devices, which are gun attachments that enable semi-automatic weapons to fire more rapidly. Another review conducted by ATF officials past year concluded that bump stocks could only be banned by an act of Congress. Sessions apparently hopes to get around that problem by reinterpreting the term "machine gun". He also blamed former the Obama administration for allowing the gun accessories in the first place.

YouTube updates its policies on videos featuring guns
In addition, Cohen admitted that with YouTube's music service, it hopes to put an end to criticism from the music industry . Listening to music videos on YouTube will remain free, but the ad blitz will make it far more frustrating - by design.

"After the senseless attack in Las Vegas, this proposed rule is a critical step in our effort to reduce the threat of gun violence that is in keeping with the Constitution and the laws passed by Congress", Sessions said in a statement Friday.

Sessions' action opens a 90-day public comment period before the regulation can become final.

Trump signed an order on February 20, less than a week after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, directing the Justice Department to make the change. Though bump stocks played no role in the mass shooting that killed 17 people at a Florida high school last month, President Trump and others quickly focused on banning bump stocks in their response to the outrage that followed.

As previously reported , Vanessa filed for divorce from Donald Jr. on March 15 after being married for more than a decade. Today, the former Danity Kane member's 2012 remix of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" is also raising eyebrows.

After the October shooting, Justice Department officials started a process to ban bump stocks - gun accessories that attach to a semiautomatic firearm and effectively turn the rifles into machine guns, which are prohibited under federal law.
