The current data leak controversy where Cambridge Analytica misused user data taken from Facebook via a third party which was supposed to use this data for research purposes, has definitely taken a toll on Facebook both in financial as well as legal terms.

Ever since former Cambridge Analytica employee Christopher Wylie revealed how the tech firm exploited Facebook to harvest data and "target the inner demons" of 50 million users, all tech hell has broken loose. "Sex & The City" Actress Announces Bid for Governor of NY
Former Syracuse mayor Stephanie Miner, a Democrat who has clashed with Cuomo, also has been considering entering the race. Cuomo is running for his third term in NY with a $ 30 million war chest at his disposal for the campaign.

According to The Verge, Brian Acton has taken to his Twitter account and is urging his followers that it's high time that they deleted their Facebook account. The people who created the quiz passed the data to Cambridge Analytica, which is in breach of Facebook's policy. "Today, along with Massachusetts Attorney General Healey, we sent a demand letter to Facebook - the first step in our joint investigation to get to the bottom of what happened". Facebook said Friday that Kogan "lied to us" and did not delete the data as they demanded. With Cambridge Analytica, Facebook said it had suspended the organisation and its parent company the SCL Group from the network. "It is now time to hear from a senior Facebook executive with the sufficient authority to give an accurate account of this catastrophic failure of process".
