Authorities said at least 10 people were injured, most at the bottom of the lift when disabled chairs slammed into each other.

A awful accident occurred on a ski lift in Gudauri, Georgia when a malfunctioning elevator accelerated to a high speed and started crushing passengers.

Witness Peter Knyshov shared a video of the incident showing some people panicking and others being thrown aside from the speeding chair lift. The video shows skiers jumping out of the ski lifts even before reaching the exiting area to save themselves from ending up in a huge tangled pile-up of lifts.
