  • Sentencing awaits 20-year-old mom who killed boyfriend during YouTube stunt

A United States woman has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment for shooting dead her boyfriend in a botched stunt they hoped would go viral on YouTube.

Instead of the bullet lodging in the book as planned, it accidentally passed through, killing 22-year-old Ruiz in front of the couple's three-year-old child and nearly 30 onlookers at the pair's Halstad home. Perez was also pregnant with their second child at the time. Of note, the couple's three-year-old child was among the 30 onlookers who watched the stunt, which was captured by two cameras, unfold. She was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

However, on Wednesday, the judge decided that the woman did not intentionally murder her boyfriend and that he was merely the aftermath of a miscalculate and idiotic prank.

Before performing the stunt Perez tweeted: 'Me and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most risky videos ever.

She is also banned from ever possessing firearms.

John Kelly Reportedly Next On The White House Chopping Block
Although praised for the calm command and deep experience he brought to the post , McMaster has had run-ins with the president. Trump told advisers Thursday that the chief of staff was "100% safe", a White House official confirms to CNN .

On that day Perez fired a powerful Desert Eagle handgun from close range, as Ruiz held an encyclopaedia in front of his chest. The bullet passed through, unlike the first book Ruiz showed Perez to convince her to do the stunt.

Norman County Attorney James Brue said that "this foolish stunt was dreamed up, planned, and executed by Pedro Ruiz, and the defendant wrongfully and tragically relied on his assurances that the stunt was safe", the Star Tribune reported.

The judge gave MonaLisa Perez the opportunity to address the courtroom, but she said no.

Perez has a YouTube channel with many videos the couple made involving various stunts and pranks.

Perez had told investigators in the wake of the 26 June incident that Mr Ruiz had been "trying to get her" to fire the gun "for a while".

Family and friends said at the time that Ruiz had been talking about performing the stunt for some time. "HIS idea not MINE", she wrote.

The couple's YouTube channel is still active and its videos have accumulated 5.3million views.

In court, Ruiz' aunt Paulita Ruiz told Perez, "You took him away from us, Mona".

Her complaint argues the deal is not valid, though, because it was Cohen who signed it on behalf of Trump and not Trump himself. The actress is reportedly anxious that the order will prevent CBS from airing her recent interview with Anderson Cooper.
