Russian Federation says it has successfully test-launched a hypersonic missile, one of a range of nuclear-capable weapons announced by President Vladimir Putin earlier this month.

Video released by the ministry showed a military jet taking off carrying a large missile before launching it mid-flight.

Putin unveiled the Kinzhal missile earlier in March as one in a new line of nuclear weaponry that could overcome US defense systems.

Women's representation, Guterres said, in national parliaments stands, on average, at less than one quarter, and in boardrooms, it is even lower.

The missile can deliver nuclear and conventional warheads at a range of more than 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles), the Russian president said, contending that it can overcome air-defense systems.

Thank you for signing up.

. Putin reportedly called the Kinzhal an "ideal weapon".

A computer video showed the drone being launched by a submarine, cruising over the seabed, hitting an aircraft carrier and also exploding near the shore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi , who attended the swearing in ceremony, congratulated the BJP government and wished them the best. The BJP had bagged 35 seats and the IPFT eight, of the 59 seats that went to the polls.

Using colorful graphics and video, Putin said Russian Federation had also tested a nuclear-powered cruise missile and a high-speed underwater drone capable of carrying a nuclear warhead that, he claimed, would be impossible to intercept.

The firing was conducted by "a MiG-31 fighter crew of the Russian Aerospace Forces" in a predetermined area, said the ministry, adding that the test went smoothly.

Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White downplayed Putin's comments, saying the US military was capable of defending the country from any threats.

Pyongyang or Panmunjeom for Kim-Trump meeting?
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, travelling in Africa, just hours before said the U.S. was "a long ways" from direct talks. Calling the planned US-North Korea talks a "step forward", Geng urged the two sides to build mutual trust through dialogue.

Mr Putin is widely expected to be re-elected as Russia's president in a week's time. "The hypersonic missile confirmed its technical operational performance and timing data of the Kinzhal missile system". "They did not impact any need on our side for a change in our deterrent posture". "It doesn't change anything other than how much money do they want to spend on something that does not change at all the strategic balance".
