Israel provides support to Papua New Guinea following devastating quake

The natural disaster follows a deadly magnitude 7.5 quake which struck the country's Hela province on February 26.

It is reported that aftershocks of magnitude 6.7 was recorded in 112 km South-West of the city of Porgera.

It is not yet known if the latest quake caused any damage or fatalities.

The death toll from an natural disaster that hit Papua New Guinea last month has topped 100 with thousands injured, Prime Minister Peter O'Neill said Friday, warning it will take years for the region to recover.

Landslides and damaged roads and bridges have made it impossible to reach some of the areas by land.

"It's a mammoth task", he added.
