  • Quiksilver CEO Pierre Agn├Ęs is lost at sea

France's coastguard has called off searches for the head of the USA firm that owns the Quiksilver surfwear brand, a day after his boat washed up empty on the country's Atlantic coast, local authorities said. We are concentrating on working with the local authorities on the search and rescue effort and supporting Pierre's family.

Agnes has been missing since Tuesday morning and the search party sent to find him was formed after his empty boat was found washed ashore the French Atlantic beach town of Capbreton. His boat later washed up on the shore of a French beach, but there was no sign of Agnes.

The search for Boardriders CEO Pierre Agnes continues off the coast of Southwest France Wednesday, a day after he went missing during a boating excursion. The area is known for its large and sometimes unsafe waves, which have made it such a surfing hotspot.
